THE HOTEL GUEST TAKES HIS
OWN LIFE, THE ROOM IN FLAME
(A poem of natural moral
wisdom)
A traveling passenger
checks into a hotel room
At mid night, he sets a
fire, the room in flame
Does this guest break the
law?
Who is responsible for the
economic losses?
As traveling passengers, we
spend lives
Father and mother are the
landlords, give mercies
Some foolish people take
their own lives
No loyalty, no filial
piety, extreme selfishness
They do not know that their
lives belong to others
Value of life is rooted in
sacrifice
Obscure the Tao, conceal the
Te, heavy selfish illusions
How can we stand in the
world, and foremost, be a person?
